Current Grants

In 2008, Art Matters will consider applications by nomination only. This June and upcoming in December, we will award grants of $3,000-$10,000 to artists focusing on communication and collaboration across national borders. We fund U.S. artists who are working with artists or institutions from abroad, working in all visual media including video, film, digital arts, performance (with a strong visual component), installation, and site-specific work. The work should take place within one year following the award.

Requests may be made for:
  • Travel and exploration fellowships as long as a specific international goal is identified.
  • Planning grants for projects with already identified collaborators.
