Support for wearable sculptural works that question borders, identity, and relationships.

Born in the border region of El Paso, Texas, USA and Ciudad Juarez, Chih, Mexico, I have been forced to alternate between cultures and customs in an infinite attempt to connect. This in turn has lead to my research of human relations and their response to environment. When one is submerged in a culture or place that is not their own, an adaptation takes place. Behaviors and interactions shift, stretch, come together and/or detach. I explore creative solutions for a divided space: facilitating interaction instead of laying out a line that does not allow it. My body of work is made in response to the interplay between people, the delineation in space and geographies has lead to research and an in-depth exploration of two beings interacting in a predesigned set of dynamics.
