I‘m a multidisciplinary theater artist. I create solo work. I’m interested in the possibilities of nonlinear storytelling. I design kaleidoscopic narratives that continually shift time and space. I’m curious about polarity. Comedy is repeatedly coupled with tragedy in my work. An examination of opposites is often fundamental to the core conflict; stasis-movement, memory-loss of memory, trauma-transcendence have all been previous themes. I’m intrigued by multiplicity and simultaneity. For example, a question I explored in my monodrama Quiet Frenzy was: What if your sweetest memory is held in the worst experience of your life? Characters regularly code-switch in my plays. Varied styles of storytelling occur in one piece. My plays tend to be sculpted by breath work, non-mimetic gesture and a movement score that is in conversation with but not demonstrative of text.
